At some point everyone consciously or unconsciously sets a standard to live by. Though in most this standard is low, medium and in some high, generally it’s a mix accounting for the current state of the world. Though excellence may be achieved in specialized areas it may be undermined if not guided by balanced perspective. Many react to insecurities and lack of tangible guidance by becoming cynical or adopting one of many faiths. Unfortunately such assumptions are subject to alterations, distortions and narrow interpretations thereby often contributing to disharmony and conflict. With so many discontinuities what might better cultivate comprehensive harmonious progress: Setting ones goals as high and wide as conceivable; Looking to the heart and higher nature for guidance and inspiration; Concentrating on self while minimizing the negative effects and excesses of the cynical, distorted and narrow of mind, tolerant yet firm while patient and open - Just trying to do ones best while maintaining tempered balance and living simply, close to the heart while forgoing the vanities of status, wealth and power - The traps and hindrances to genuine enduring happiness and fulfillment. So what’s the “reward” for all this perceived “self-sacrifice”(There has to be a payoff right?): Other than of itself the self-perpetuating benefits accrue naturally, are comprehensive and realized through purification of motive - A wonderful mystery related to the paradox; When one relinquishes it all (or that of lesser value) one acquires it all.

counts can be counted" – Dr. Albert Einstein
