summer... time. summer ... spinning me in the wind, letting my spirit mend. summer ... taking me around that bend, once again. guess I'll walk on down that old madrone road. a reminiscent breeze is just a tuggin' on my sleeve, I can hear the water's song as it plays along the applegate creek. those summer days, in emerald shades ... a shinin' on me. guess I'll sit a spell, and just take in the summer smells. I see the local kids are still a skinny dippin' off the old covered bridge. Their deep brown skins, warm as a summer wind, glistenin' as they tumble in. swing off that old dead pine, they're sure enough havin' a good time ... in the prime of ... summertime. music and lyrics by brad kalita.
